Highlight: Sustaining the Profession
Sports Medicine recently forged new relationships with the graduate athletic training programs at Norwich and Southern Maine modeled after their long-standing clinical preceptor program with Vermont State University. These partnerships paired each Middlebury athletic trainer to train and supervise graduate students through hands-on practical experience in athletic training. The Norwich and SMU students challenge our staff to continue their own professional growth through teaching and mentoring. These students in turn engage in evidence-based internships, crucial to the development of well-rounded athletic trainers. In this way our sports medicine team contributes to the growth of the profession while providing Middlebury athletes with top-notch care. In the 24/25 academic year, Sports Medicine was recognized as the Clinical Internship Site of the Year by SMU.
