CTLR Director Appointment Announced

On July 1, Sarah Stroup, the Frederick C. Dirks Professor of Political Science, began a three-year term as director of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Research (CTLR).
Stroup is returning from spending a sabbatical year as an academic-in-residence at the CMI–Martti Ahtisaari Foundation, a private global mediation organization. She also had a fall 2025 fellowship at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, where she will continue as a non-resident fellow (2026-29).
Stroup brings past experience in faculty professional development and administration to the CTLR. From 2022-25 she served as director of the Davis Collaborative in Conflict Transformation, and she served as the faculty co-director of the Engaged Listening Project from 2018-21.
“It is a joy to work with the dedicated educators at CTLR,” says Stroup, “as we work to understand and respond to the educational needs of our students and faculty.”
