Tutoring

ACE Tutors (Academic Consultants for Excellence)

Work on basic executive function skills, including time management, studying, and academic reading with an ACE peer tutor. Get the student perspective on balancing academic work and self-care. Schedule an appointment. go/ace/ 

If you’d like to go deeper into a full range of executive function skills, you can also book an academic coaching consultation with a Learning Resources director or stop by their weekly drop-in hours. go/learningresources/

Language Tutors

Work with a peer language tutor on speaking, writing, and study skills. Students enrolled in a language course can schedule individual appointments. See tutor availability and book online. go/languagetutoring/

STEM and Quantitative Tutors 

See the Q-Center drop-in calendar at go/q-calendar/. Most tutoring is course-based and in the evenings. You can also schedule individual appointments at go/q-appt/. Additional drop-ins include R Coding, STEM and Data Librarians, TidyTuesdays (data), CCI, and Oratory Now. General math tutoring is by individual appointment. See details at go/q-center/

Writing Tutors

Peer writing tutors can work with you on idea and content development, drafting, revising, and developing effective writing practices. Spring Writing Center drop-in sessions are in the CTLR (LIB 225) on Sundays (6-10 PM), Mondays (6-9 PM), and Wednesdays (6-9 PM).

General writing and course-embedded tutors can be scheduled for individual appointments through WCONLINE. Writing tutoring with senior staff and faculty is also available. Learn more about the Writing Center at go/write/.  

Advising and Opportunities

Information Session: Graduate Study at the University of Cambridge - March 3, 3:00 PM, MBH 168

Join Nathan Lamb, University of Cambridge, for an information session outlining graduate study in the UK, programs available at Cambridge, student experience, the application process including entry requirements and key deadlines, and information on fees and funding opportunities. Registration is appreciated.

Watson Fellow Talk: “What does it mean to die well?” - March 16, 4:30 PM, Hillcrest 103

Samara Gordon Wexler ’23.5 will speak about her year-long Watson Fellowship project traveling to the UK, Ghana, South Africa, India, New Zealand, and Ireland. She work alongside death doulas, fantasy coffin makers, and medical teams serving remote villages in order to understand how communities support end of life care. Registration is appreciated.  

UK Scholarships for Graduate Study Nomination Deadline - April 4

Apply to be nominated for a UK scholarshipfor fall 2026 competition deadlines. This supports graduate study during academic year 2027-2028. If you are nominated, you will continue to work on your final application through the summer for fall 2026 submission. go/uk/

Health Professions April Pop-Up Advising in the Q-Center - Starting April 7

Health Professions Advisors Hannah Benz and Mary Lothrop will be available in person for drop-in advising conversations. Come ask questions about anything from fall registration to summer planning, or just come say hi. See dates and times at go/hp/

Knight-Hennessy Scholarship Information Session - April 8, Noon, CTLR Suite (LIB 225)

Join admissions officer Christian Tanja to learn more about the Knight-Hennessy scholarship program for graduate study at Stanford. Open to all citizenships and degree programs. Pizza lunch. Registration appreciated. 

Fulbright and Watson Preliminary Application Deadline - April 15

Submitting a preliminary application in April allows you to receive multiple rounds of feedback from a fellowships advisor and create a competitive application for the September deadlines. Later applications are accepted. go/fulbright/ or go/watson/  

Senior Work Project Supplement (SRPS) Application Deadline - April 15

Apply for senior work funding up to $1,200 for summer and early fall 2026 projects. Hoskin and Padma Desai eligible international projects can apply for up to $3,000. Deadline for applications $350 or less is rolling. Open to all disciplines. go/srps/

Spring Student Symposium - April 17, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, MBH

Students from all class years and disciplines present their academic work throughout McCardell Bicentennial Hall (MBH). It is a day of sharing ideas, research, and creativity. All other activities are canceled to allow the entire Middlebury community to enjoy this day together. go/sym/

Break Information

The CTLR Suite and Q-Center will be closed during break on March 21-28. Peer tutoring only occurs on nights before classes occur and may be limited adjacent to breaks due to tutor availability. Faculty and staff also have limited availability. Center Hours
