Spring Semester Events and Deadlines
Pre-Health Info Session: Anatomy of an Applicant
Tuesday, 2/10, 12:15–1 pm lunchtime session, MBH 169
This pre-health info session with Hannah Benz and Mary Lothrop is designed to help prospective candidates determine when and how to be most competitive in the medical school application process. This session will emphasize AAMC Premed Competencies, how to articulate your ‘why,’ and strategies for identifying strong individual letters of recommendation.
If you’re new to pre-health, you can orient yourself to the Middlebury pre-health program before attending the session by watching a short video (you’ll need to be signed in with your Middlebury email) where you’ll learn about what makes for a successful pre-health student.

Watson/Fulbright Fellowship Information Session

Join Dean Lisa Gates to learn about the Fulbright scholarship and Watson Fellowship programs, the application process, and updates for next year.
The Watson Fellowship provides funding to pursue an international, multi-country, independent, self-designed project following graduation. Students graduating in Feb or May 2027 are eligible for this application cycle. All citizenships eligible!
Fulbright grants provide nine months of funding for graduate study, independent research, or English teaching assistant positions in over 140 countries. Must be a US citizen or US national to apply. Open to seniors and alumni.

Middlebury-Vermont Law School Scholarship
Deadline: Wednesday, 2/18 (noon)
Full tuition for JD and/or Master’s of Environmental Law and Policy (MELP) programs. Open to seniors and alumni accepted to VLS. For application instructions and eligibility, see go/vls/.
UK Graduate Fellowship Information Session
Thursday, 2/19, 4:30 pm, LIB 201
Join Dean Lisa Gates to learn about nationally competitive fellowships for graduate study in the UK. You’ll learn about the application process for fellowships including the Churchill (STEM), Gates-Cambridge, Marshall, Rhodes, St. Andrews scholarships. Most UK fellowships require nomination from Middlebury. If you are considering applying for one of these fellowships in the fall, you must apply for nomination by 4/4 at go/middapply/. Spring Student Symposium
Application Deadline: Wednesday, 2/25
Every spring, Middlebury takes a day off from class to celebrate student learning symposium-style. You are invited to share your research and creative works with the Middlebury community on April 17. All class years and all disciplines may participate. If you are proud of a project you have completed or that is nearing completion, consider sharing your learning with your peers as well as faculty and staff. See go/sym/ for more information.
Kellogg Fellowship
Application Deadline: Sunday, 3/1
This fellowship supports senior work in humanities and areas of humanistic inquiry. The award of $5,000 supports research expenses and academic travel for senior work to be completed in the 2026-27 academic year. See go/kellogg/ for more information and application instructions.
Information Session: Graduate Study at the University of Cambridge

Join admissions representative Nathan Lamb at the University of Cambridge for an information session outlining graduate study in the UK, programs available at Cambridge, student experience, the application process including entry requirements and key deadlines, and information on fees and funding opportunities. Cambridge’s reputation for outstanding academic achievement and world-class original research is known worldwide.

Apply to Be a Samvid Scholar to Drive Societal Change
Deadline: Thursday, 4/12
This merit-based graduate scholarship program seeks mission-driven graduate students who can drive transformative change for society through leadership development, community, and financial support. Applications close on April 12, 2026, at 11:59 pm ET.
Eligible candidates will:
· Pursue a full-time graduate program of 2 years or longer at a university in the United States, in one of the following eligible programs: MD, MBA, JD, MPP/MPA, MPH, or MS/MA in the social sciences or STEM
· Be a first-year graduate student for the 2026-2027 academic year
· Have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.5
· Be a U.S. citizen or DACA recipient

Senior Research Funding (SRPS, Hoskin, Padma Desai Funds) for Senior Work to Be Completed 2026-2027
Deadline: Wednesday, 4/15
Students can apply for up to $1,200 for SRPS and $3,000 for Hoskin or Padma Desai funding-eligible projects. SRPS applications for $350 or less are reviewed on a rolling basis. This deadline is intended for students who plan to pursue research activities in the summer. See go/srps/ or go/hoskin/ for more information and application instructions. Future deadlines for 2026-2027 senior work are October 1, 2026 and January 24, 2027.
Preliminary Application for Watson and Fulbright Applications
Deadline: Wednesday, 4/15 (encouraged, but later apps are accepted!)
If you’re contemplating applying for a Fulbright or Watson in Fall 2027, start the process now with a preliminary application at go/middapply/. It is fine to have multiple ideas at this stage and to apply for both fellowships!
