Jack DesBois '15.5

Jack DesBois is a singer, actor and poet based in Middlebury and originally from the North Shore of Massachusetts. An alumnus of the Middlebury College Music Department, Class of 2015.5, Jack has been working since graduation at Project Independence elder day center in Middlebury as an elder caregiver, entertainer, and volunteer coordinator. Over the past five years he has engaged extensively with the Middlebury performing arts community, both on and off campus. With Middlebury College, he has appeared in J-Term Musicals Into the Woods (Wolf), Ragtime (Tateh) and, most recently, City of Angels (Angel City Bass, Luther). He directed the Middlebury College Musical Players’ production of Rent at Town Hall Theater and the college’s madrigal group The Mountain Ayres. Jack has sung in several Opera Company of Middlebury productions, including Eugene Onegin (Gillot, chorus) and Macbeth (Assassin, chorus). He has performed with Middlebury Actors Workshop in Seminar (Douglas) and Macbeth (Young Siward, Apparitions). A highlight of his Vermont theatre work has been teaching and mentoring for Town Hall Theater Young Company camps and productions, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Oberon) and Alice in Wonderland(Charles Dodgson). Jack recently premiered his original solo performance piece The Western Star, an epic poem with songs in celebration of the season of Epiphany, at St Stephen’s Episcopal Church on the Green, where he is an occasional soloist.
