Academic Degrees
Laura MacMullin is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Middlebury College. She received a B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Economics from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Toronto.
Laura’s research focuses on improving the well-being of trans and gender-diverse youth. In particular, Laura’s research has examined experiences of risk and resilience for BIPOC trans youth. Her research has also explored how gender-affirming healthcare can be made more accessible. Further, she designed and tested an empathy-based intervention that aimed to improve children’s attitudes toward gender diversity. Laura has used a variety of methods in her research, including both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
