Academic Degrees

Olga Parshina is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology at Middlebury College. She joined Middlebury in 2023, following the completion of a post-doctoral program at the Center for Language and Brain at HSE University (Moscow). She earned her B.A. in Linguistics from Nizhny Novgorod State University (Russia), her M.A. in Linguistics and Cognitive Science from the University of Delaware, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from City University of New York.

Olga’s research focuses on exploring online language processing in unique populations, such as bilingual and monolingual adults and children, including those with learning difficulties (dyslexia). Particularly, Olga investigates the questions concerning reading skill development using eye-tracking technology to learn more about what eye movements can tell us about sentence processing in these readers. More recently, Olga extended her research interests to exploring language comprehension and production in younger pre-school monolingual and bilingual children.
