Sarah Trouslard holds a B.A. in Music from Amherst College and a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from the CUNY Graduate Center. She has taught piano for the Third Street Music School Settlement and serves on the faculty of the Middlebury Community Music Center. She has performed throughout New York City, New England, and Europe as a chamber musician, accompanist, vocalist, and dancer. Since moving to Vermont, she has collaborated with violinist Emily Sunderman and guitarist Dayve Huckett. As an ethnomusicologist, Sarah has studied and performed traditional music and dance forms of France, Cuba, and Brazil, both in the United States and abroad. Her academic research focuses on contemporary Occitan music, regional identity, and postcolonial immigration in southern France. She travels to France regularly to conduct fieldwork and presents her research at national conferences.
