After earning a Masters degree in Biochemistry at the Université of Provence, Richard Mattei began teaching at the elementary level. Subsequently, he was trained in teaching hearing-impaired children and earned a CAAPSAIS diploma. He now teaches at the secondary and college level.
Richard has been teaching for 15 years at the « Centre de Déficients auditifs et visuels » ( Visually challenged and hearing impaired children) in Bastia, Corsica. He holds a degree in Sign Language level B2.
A die-hard sports fan - especially soccer - Richard is in charge of after-school and pedagogical programs at the Bastia Sporting Club training center. He has been a member of The Middlebury French School Faculty since 2001. Richard coordinates the Level I program.
