Agripino Silveira is from Fortaleza, Ceará state. He received his PhD in linguistics from the University of New Mexico. He is currently teaching at Stanford University. His research focuses on the acquisition of Portuguese by Spanish speakers and pedagogy. He enjoys soccer, cooking, reading, and antique shopping. He taught at Middlebury in 2011. He will be in charge of Levels 1 and 4, and the graduate phonetics class.
