Student Choice Refunds

Middlebury has partnered with Nelnet Campus Commerce to offer our Student Choice Refunds. Quick, simple sign-up procedure, plus edit or change a refund method midstream. From distribution to deposit, students can see the status of their refunds online.

With Nelnet Campus Commerce Student Choice Refunds, you have the option to receive your refund via direct deposit or a paper check. Direct deposit is the quickest and most efficient method to receive your refund. 

  • Go online,, and select your refund preference. You no longer need to stand in line at the bursar's office between classes. It's all online.
  • You can return to the website anytime, 24/7, to access real-time information about your refund.

Students will log in to Nelnet Campus Commerce and select Manage Refunds. The first time you log in, you will see Enroll in Refunds.

Required steps

Step 1:

  • Verify profile information that was passed in to the system is accurate and complete.
  • Enter a secondary email address, and then click Next.
If any information is incorrect, you will need to contact your institution to update it. Your school maintains your primary email address. Both the primary and secondary email addresses are used for correspondence and notifications related to refunds.

  • Select your refund method.
  • Provide the required information.
  • Agree to the terms and conditions.
  • Click Save.

Step 2

You are now officially enrolled! The next time you sign in, you can edit or remove your refund method, edit your profile, and view history of refunds, profile changes, and email notifications.
