Laura Casasen

Laura Cassain holds a PhD in Sociology and Anthropology from the Complutense University of Madrid and a diploma in Social Research and Data Analysis from the Spanish Sociological Research Center. She is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Applied Sociology of the Complutense University of Madrid and an adjunct professor at the Departments of Sociology and Gender Studies at Syracuse University in Madrid. Her doctoral research project inquired into the experience of return migration in contexts of socio-economic crisis and combined a transnational and intersectional approach. She has published in Critical Discourse Studies, Transnational Social Review, Población y Sociedad. She has worked in public and private research institutions such as the Sociological Research Center and the Women’s Institute. She is a member of the Group on International Migration Studies (GEMI) at the Complutense University of Madrid.
