Connections Are Everything

More than a networking event, Middlebury Career Connections was where Middlebury’s community came alive through shared stories, guidance, and the start of lifelong professional relationships.

On October 3, 2025, the Johnson Memorial Building buzzed with activity as more than 45 alumni and parent volunteers returned to campus for Middlebury Career Connections,an evening designed to spark meaningful conversations between students and professionals from across industries. Over light snacks and lively discussion, students explored new career paths, and built relationships.

Co-sponsored by the Family Philanthropy Circle and the Center for Careers and Internships, this event celebrated what makes Middlebury’s network so powerful: curiosity, generosity, and a shared commitment to helping students with what’s next.

    When: Thursday, January 8th 2026, 4:30 pm - 6:15 pm EST Location: Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest , 103, 531 College Street, Middlebury, Vermont 05753, United States We are excited to share that John Fullerton will be at Middlebury College for a special event celebrating the launch of his new book, Regenerative Economics: Revolutionary Thinking for a World in Crisis. John Fullerton is an unconventional economist and the founder of the Capital Institute, dedicated to the bold re-imagination of economics and finance. He is a member of the Club of Rome and was a managing director of JPMorgan until he walked away from Wall Street in 2001. He’ll be joined by Donna Ramirez-Harrington, Chair of UVM’s Department of Economics and Affiliate with the Gund Institute for the Environment, for a conversation exploring the core ideas of regenerative economics and what it means for the future of business, finance, and our global systems.This is a unique opportunity to hear from two leading voices in the movement toward a more just, resilient, and life-affirming economy.  Ten books will be given away!

  • Wall Street Prep: Accounting & Financial Modeling Liberal Arts Boot Camp (Saturday, January 10th 2026, 9:00 am EST - Sunday, January 11th 2026, 5:00 pm EST)

This intensive 2-day seminar is led by former investment bankers with applied expertise in financial and valuation modeling methodologies. Students gain the practical knowledge they need to excel during the recruiting process and on the job. IMPORTANT--take advantage of the included online tutorials early!!! Registration includes 12 months of access to WSP's tutorials on Excel, Accounting, Financial Statements, DCF modeling, and interview prep resources. These are available to you immediately upon registering.Day 1 Agenda (Saturday, January 10 (9:00am-5pm))"Financial Statement Modeling in Excel" Topic 1: We begin with an analysis of basic accounting rules and the structure and composition of key financial filings like 10Ks and 10Qs. Then, we introduce the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and thoroughly analyze their important inter-relationships. We conclude with a discussion of ratio analysis.Topic 2: Students will develop a 3-statement model completely from scratch, inputting historical data and assumptions to project out financial statements by selecting, locating, and developing appropriate projection drivers.Day 2 Agenda (Sunday, January 11 (9:00am-5pm)) "DCF Modeling in Excel" Topic 3:  Students learn how to value the company step-by-step, including how to estimate the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) in the real world, how to implement commonly used approaches to calculating terminal value, and how to use data tables to analyze a broad range of scenarios given different assumptions.Do I receive college credit?
