Student Wellness Leaders

Student Wellness Leaders (SWLs) are peer educators sponsored by Health and Wellness Education.

Are you passionate about health and wellness topics including alcohol, stress, sleep, and sexual health?

Would you like to work on your skills as a public speaker, small group facilitator, and event planner?

We are looking for SWLs to join the group during fall 2013. SWL applications are due Monday September 23, 2013 at 5pm in McCullough 137 (Dean of Students Suite 1) or via email to Barbara McCall

How do I become a SWL?

Students interested in becoming Student Wellness Leaders (SWLs) must submit a SWL application  during the recruitment period.

Of the pool of initial applicants, some will advance to a group interview where the current SWLs and Director of Health and Wellness Education will choose and craft invitations to join the group.

Mandatory requirements for all new members of the group include a 3-4 day training session once per academic year, a 1 day refresher/retreat once per academic year, and attendance at weekly 90 minute meetings. Students who are planning to be abroad during their junior year are eligible to join the SWLs, but must attend the required 3-4 day training before facilitating workshops and events.

What do SWLs actually do?
