Kazem Abdullah, who studied German and Portuguese at the Language Schools, is conducting the Metropolitan Opera premiere of X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X. Abdullah explained the different musical genres reflected in the newly revised score—as well as his path to the conductor’s podium—in interviews with NY1 and Dayton.com. The November 18 production will be streamed live in cinemas across the country, including at Town Hall Theater in Middlebury.
