German School attendee Kazem Abdullah will take the conductor’s podium this fall at the world premiere of the opera Castor and Patience, commissioned by the Cincinnati Opera. With an original libretto by Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy K. Smith, the opera centers on two cousins from an African American family at odds over the fate of a historic parcel of land they have inherited in the American South.
