Young Alumna Shakes up the Pentagon

After working on the Biden campaign in 2020, Elsa Alvarado ’18 secured a position as director of strategic communications for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs. That role makes her the youngest director at the pentagon and one of only a few Latina women in comparable positions. She spoke to Al Día about her journey and plans.
