  • Prajna Meditation Club

    We are a non-denominational and non-religious meditation group run by students. Prajna is a safe and welcoming space for all students who want to learn more about or practice mediation and mindfulness. At our meetings, you can expect guided meditations and other mindfulness practices, with breaks in between for conversation and chai. Prajna also hosts retreats throughout the year. All Prajna activities are open to anyone, regardless of experience!

    Welcome to the Prajna Mediation Club!

All Prajna activities are open to anyone, regardless of experience! Drop by weekly, or once a semester, as a way to recenter yourself and start the week on a positive note.

    Free 45-minute student-led indoor spin classes! These classes take place in the FIC building, room 127. Shoes and equipment are providedt.  Sign up for classes at go/youpower or using the MINDBODY app.

  • VinYin Flow with Dina Bazou

    Dina will lead a 60-minute yoga class from 7pm-8pm. Students can take 8 of these classes to receive PE credit. Mats will be provided to those that need them.

  • Weekly Sunday Night Environmental Group Meeting

    Sunday Night Environmental Group (SNEG) is a non-hierarchical student org committed to climate and social justice activism. In the past we have pushed the college to divest from fossil fuels, passed anti-fossil fuel infrastructure resolutions in town, trained students on methods of non-violent direct action, occupied the statehouse, organized climate strikes, and so much more. We strive to ground our work in anti-racism, indigenous sovereignty, and community power. We meet in Hillcrest Orchard Room in person every Sunday night from 8:00-9:00 pm.

    Domestic Violence Legislation Timeline Exhibit

    Legislation surrounding domestic violence has a fascinating and shocking history. Learn more about this history (since medieval times) and the intersectionality of sexual and domestic violence with other issues and identities. Browse the timeline display at your own leisure from October 16-23.

    Please attend a reception and panel event on Thursday, Oct. 19 to learn more about past and present efforts to minimize interpersonal violence. Guests from domestic and sexual violence advocacy groups will be present to reflect on victories, highlight future work, and field your questions.

    Pop-up! 3-D Books from Special Collections

    Special Collections’ newest exhibit features 100 years of pop-up books from the fanciful to the functional, from science textbooks to fairy tales. The exhibit is installed in Davis Family Library on the Main Level.

    It is our pleasure to welcome Coco Saelim to Ralph Myhre to provide an exclusive opportunity to our members and golfing community. Coco will be providing Therapeutic Massage Treatments on Sundays and Mondays Ralph Myhre in the weeks ahead.

    Coco Saelim is a native of Bangkok Thailand, where she studied traditional Thai massage at the Wat Pho Chtawan Traditional Thai Medical and Massage School, the world’s pre-eminent school of traditional Thai massage; as well as undertaking advanced training at The Shivagakomarpaj School of Thai Massage in Chiang Mai Thailand.

  • The Vermont Restorative Approaches Collaborative: a community discussion

    The Vermont Restorative Approaches Collaborative (VTRAC) was established in 2019 through a VT Agency of Education grant in order to support the development of restorative approaches in schools. In this lunchtime discussion, Lindsey Halman will describe the work of VTRAC and lead a discussion of Middlebury’s own needs and efforts in restorative practices. Halman is executive director of UP for Learning, a Montpelier-based nonprofit supporting youth empowerment in educational institutions.

  • Math Colloquium Fall Series: The Mathematics of Opinion Dynamics

    Heather Zinn-Brooks, Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College, will present a talk titled “The Mathematics of Opinion Dynamics.” Talk description: Given the large audience and the ease of sharing content, the shifts in opinion driven by online interaction have important implications for interpersonal interactions, public opinion, voting, and policy. There is a critical and growing demand to understand the mechanisms behind the spread of content online.
