Jess Schlotfeldt

Jess joined Middlebury in June 2025 as the Associate Director of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). Previously, Jess was at the University of Utah where she began her career in the Registrar’s Office and then spent nearly 15 years in ISSS in various positions, most of which was spent as the Associate Director of Operations. She was Associate Director of Student Affairs at the Spencer Fox School of Medicine at the University of Utah for almost three years before moving to Vermont for this role. 

Jess earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Montana in Geography with a focus on Central & Southwest Asian Studies. Later, she completed a Master of Legal Studies degree through the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. 

Jess thrives on developing collaborative teams and innovating new processes, while supporting cross-cultural perspectives. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, riding bikes, camping, traveling, and is always excited to find new wildflowers.
