Loren joined Middlebury College in July 2018 to serve in the role of International Services Specialist in the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) office and became the Data Systems, Engagement, and Operations Manager in January of 2023.  He assists the ISSS team with processing visa related documents for our academic year and summer students, faculty, and staff.  He also manages our data systems, and supports our Assistant Director who is based at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, a graduate school of Middlebury College.

Through the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree program, Loren completed an International Master’s degree in Adult Education for Social Change study program at the University of Glasgow, University of Malta, Tallinn University and the Open University of Cyprus. His studies focused on international implications for critical pedagogy and participatory-based adult education.  Before that, Loren served in the United States Peace Corps as a Child, Youth, and Families mentor and advocate in the Philippines.

After four years living abroad in multi-cultural communities and having earned his Bachelor’s degree in Community and International Development from the University of Vermont, Loren is thrilled to be back in the beautiful Green Mountain State serving Middlebury’s international community.  His favorite Vermont activities are hiking, sledding and exploring seasonal farmers markets.
