This holiday season Middlebury employees took part in several community initiatives to collect food and gifts for local organizations.

Cans for Cups

(VT) In December, Staff Council held two Cans for Cups donation events in Vermont. Employees drove up and exchanged a non-perishable item for a cup of coffee or hot cocoa. Hope’s Food Bank in Middlebury received 245 lbs. of food and needed items, along with $40 in donations. Thank you to Stacie Marshall and Kelsea Moulton for organizing.

Hope Holiday Shop

(VT) The Center for Community Engagement is collecting unwrapped, new gifts for needy families to select from in the Hope Holiday Shop. Gifts can be dropped off at 26 Blinn Lane on Monday-Friday from 9 AM-5 PM. See the wishlist and suggested book titles.

Monterey Food Drive

(CA) The 6th annual food drive at Monterey was a big success thanks to Naomi Braswell. The Institute collected over 1,000 lbs. of canned goods and over $1,200 for the Monterey County Food Bank.

Gift of Giving

(CA) Monterey County migrant farm workers and their families will receive toys, gifts, and food certificates this holiday season through Middlebury’s Gift of Giving event. Employees in Monterey collect gifts and donations that are distributed through a partner organization.
