Anita Husen holds an MA in Arabic Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA from Emory University. She attended the Middlebury Arabic School in 2005 and 2008. Her time in the Middle East includes Peace Corps service in a Berber village of Morocco and a year at the American University in Cairo as a CASA fellow. She translated a bilingual edition of A Bit of Air, written in Egyptian colloquial Arabic. Her research interests include sociolinguistics, dialectology, and pedagogy. She currently teaches Arabic at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
