Alex Fancy is Professor Emeritus at Mount Allison University, Sackville, NB, Canada. Has been named a 3M National Teaching Fellow in recognition of his teaching, and for leadership in higher education in Canada, and is founding Chair of the Council of 3M National Teaching Fellows. He has received the Prix dialogue du lieutenant-gouverneur for contributions to bilingualism and biculturalism in the province of New Brunswick. Other recognitions include the Association of Atlantic Universities Distinguished Teacher Award; the Paul Paré Medal for Teaching, Research and Scholarship; and the Mount Allison University Alumni Distinguished Service Medal.
Director of Tintamarre, a bilingual theatre company, he has directed more than one hundred productions, and given workshops in several countries. Tintamarre is best known for their school tours of collaborative productions with activist themes. (www.mta.ca/tintamarre)

This course aims to help students perfect their written French, explore and use argumentative strategies, and develop an authentic style. Identification and resolution of writing problems, stylistic exercises and composition of texts, independently and in workshops.
