Lucien Victor is a former professor of French language and literature at the University of Provence (Aix-Marseille I). He received a Ph. D. in French language and literature. He has written and published many articles and books in his field of study, most specifically on several authors of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. He has taught French linguistics and the poetics of the French literary texts for many years. He has also prepared students for the French competitive teachers' examinations. During that time, he participated in the selective juries for those examinations.

Concomitant to his academic activities he directed the university orientation service, and, for ten years, the distance learning department.
