Additional Requirements for the Spanish School Graduate Program

In addition to the general application requirements, applicants to the Spanish Graduate Program must complete the following:

Online Language Assessment

Once we have received your application and the $75 application fee, the Spanish School will email you instructions for the online assessment.

Submission of the online assessment must be completed before your application will be reviewed for an admissions decision.

Spanish School MA and DML candidates who have already completed their summer of candidacy need not take the online language assessment. However, we reserve the right to require you to take the language assessment again if it has been a significant amount of time since you last attended a Spanish graduate session at Middlebury.

Note: Please see our new deadlines for 2018. In order to request materials and help students prepare for the visa process, those applying to the summer program followed by the academic year abroad must submit an application by May 1 (for Germany, the deadline is April 15.). Applicants for the year abroad must also have a passport that is valid for at least six months after the end date of the program.

Financial aid for the abroad program is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified applicants. For scholarships, fellowships, and some financial aid programs deadlines, please refer to the Language Schools Financial Aid page for details.
