Marie-Therese Labaki

Faculty

Marie-Thérèse Labaki holds a Master of Education (MEd) with a concentration in International Teaching from Framingham State University. She has worked in the foreign language teaching field for more than 20 years, as an instructor, language consultant, and teacher trainer.

Her international teaching experience includes having taught in many Arabic programs, at Middlebury College, and at international academic institutions in Lebanon and the Gulf. She has extensive experience in coordinating, training, and teaching in the field of foreign languages including French and Arabic, both Modern Standard Arabic and Lebanese colloquial.

From 2003-2015, she taught and coordinated Modern Standard Arabic and Lebanese colloquial at the American University in Beirut, where she designed the Lebanese colloquial curriculum, developed customized  technology-based courses,  and created the instructional material for teaching Lebanese Arabic for all levels. She is currently a Senior lecturer and Arabic language program coordinator at Ohio State University.

Multilingual, she has a keen interest in foreign languages, Levantine Arabic, psycholinguistics and the cognitive approach to second language acquisition.
