Researcher, curator and independent critic, Eugenia (Kekena) Corvalán graduated in Literature at the Universidad of Buenos Aires (UBA) and is writing her doctoral dissertation in Contemporary Latin American Art for the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP). Kekena is professor of Latin American Art and Art Market at the Universidad del Museo Social Argentino (UMSA). She has taught several courses at the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA), el Centro Cultural Borges y el Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas (UBA). She has obtained a Primera Mención of the Premio Alba of Critics and Art Theory with a work published by the Wilfredo Lam Foundation in Cuba. Her articles have been included in foreign and national journals. She has curated several exhibitions, among others the Ospite Inatesso Project in Buenos Aires and the Itineraria Project in Lima, Perú. She will repeat the peruvian experience in Caracas, Venezuela, during 2013. Kekena curates for artists such as Andrea Racciatti, Carolina Antoniadis, Marta Ares, Dalila Puzzovio, Viviana Zargón, and Diana Dowek. She is one of the directors for the culture website www.leedor.com where she writes articles on Arts, Cinema and Photography. Kekena also programs the Latin American Festival of Videoart (FLAVIA) and has been a jury for the Itaú Artes Visuales Prize (2012).
