In addition to lessons on leadership and long-term career management, the session will focus on Stone Point Capital and Private Equity internship roles for Summer 2027 and our Associate Recruiting process. Stone Point is an alternative investment firm with more than $54 billion of assets under management. Stone Point targets equity and debt investments in companies in the global financial services industry and related sectors. Our offices are based in Greenwich, CT, with additional offices in New York City and West Palm Beach, Florida. Over the last 20+ years, Stone Point Capital has raised and managed nine private equity funds (the Trident Funds). This intensive 2-day seminar is led by former investment bankers with applied expertise in financial and valuation modeling methodologies. Students gain the practical knowledge they need to excel during the recruiting process and on the job. IMPORTANT--take advantage of the included online tutorials early!!! Registration includes 12 months of access to WSP's tutorials on Excel, Accounting, Financial Statements, DCF modeling, and interview prep resources. These are available to you immediately upon registering.Day 1 Agenda (Saturday, January 10 (9:00am-5pm))"Financial Statement Modeling in Excel" Topic 1: We begin with an analysis of basic accounting rules and the structure and composition of key financial filings like 10Ks and 10Qs. Then, we introduce the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and thoroughly analyze their important inter-relationships. We conclude with a discussion of ratio analysis.Topic 2: Students will develop a 3-statement model completely from scratch, inputting historical data and assumptions to project out financial statements by selecting, locating, and developing appropriate projection drivers.Day 2 Agenda (Sunday, January 11 (9:00am-5pm)) "DCF Modeling in Excel" Topic 3:  Students learn how to value the company step-by-step, including how to estimate the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) in the real world, how to implement commonly used approaches to calculating terminal value, and how to use data tables to analyze a broad range of scenarios given different assumptions.Do I receive college credit? Does this count as a J-Term course? No to both. Students who successfully complete the seminar receive a certificate in financial and valuation modeling and can list the experience on their resumes. How much does it cost? $190 (80% discount over corporate rate) Is financial assistance available? Students with financial need may be eligible for a SAS Grant to cover all or part of the fee. Funds are limited, so act on this ASAP to maximize your chance.
