Of the 664 students who graduated in May 2012, 471 reported their plans after graduation, representing a 71% response rate. The Class of 2012 reported strong outcomes. By December, 61% of graduates were employed, 11% were enrolled in graduate school, and only 14% were still seeking employment.

The chart below shows the employment industries reported by those in the class of 2012 who had secured a job by December 2012.  The most common industries were education (22%), finance/banking (10%), science and technology (10%), and consulting (9%).  Smaller but significant numbers of students/alumni found jobs in business/professional services, retail and merchandising, healthcare, media and communications, arts and entertainment, non-profit, government, and legal industries.

• About half of students who participated in community service, activism or advocacy reported this influenced their career plans, academic course or major selection.
• 27% of students enrolled in a community-connected course (service learning) either at Middlebury or while studying abroad.
