    CrossFit Middlebury hosts 1 hour workouts open to all students. CrossFit is “constantly varied, high-intensity functional movement” — a mix of gymnastics, weightlifing, and cardio. Beginners welcome!

    Movement Matters: Miguel Alejandro Castillo

    Mahaney Arts Center, Dance Theatre

    Invite your Proctor crush to a crash course on the basics of Salsa dance. Don’t have a Proctor crush? No worries, self-love is honestly the ultimate crush. So take yourself on a date and come out to dance.

    In this Movement Matter class, we will warm up the body to an array of Latin rhythms (Bad Bunny will be on the playlist). We will learn the basics steps of salsa and create a dance combination which we will practice and refine as a group. Be ready to sweat and learn some moves with an encouraging community.

  • Student Involvement Fair

    Mark your calendars for the Student Activities and Student Services Fair on September 20, 4:30-6:00 PM in front of McCullough Student Center. Come learn about over 170 orgs and initiatives on campus and help us kick off the semester!  This year the Center for Community Engagement’s MiddAction Fair will also be part of this event – over 40 local non-profit organizations and schools will share opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to get involved with volunteering, social justice, and service-learning activities. go/middlink to learn more about student organizations at Midd.

    Beginning Ballet

    Ballet returns to the dance department this fall. Classical ballet technique in traditional ballet class structure. No point shoes, please. Each session is open to a maximum of 20 participants.  PE credit is available for attendance at 8 classes. Previous dance experience in any form is recommended. Sign up at go/bballet22.     Take a break from work and come join Natalie Eddy in a 60-minute power yoga class. Students who take 8 classes with Natalie will receive PE credit! Mats will be provided for those who need them.

  • Winter Term EMT Course MANDATORY Info Session

    The Winter Term EMT Program is a credit bearing comprehensive emergency medical internship that is co-sponsored by Middlebury College and Middlebury Regional EMS (MREMS).

    The intensive month long program provides students the opportunity to become nationally certified EMT-B’s. EMT skills may be used to provide medical support on the ambulance, at the Open Door Clinic and other College and community events. To learn more about the program and how to apply, please be sure to attend this information session.

    Bring your own lunch for a relaxed conversation about being a dance-artist beyond Middlebury.

    Miguel Alejandro Castillo is a queer, interdisciplinary artist born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. A choreographer, director, installation artist, theatre deviser, and performer, he is drawn to the permeability of art forms and the new inquires that arise from cross-disciplinary and multicultural collaborations.
