    NER Poetry Reading Group

    The New England Review (NER) is hosting a poetry reading group for faculty and staff this fall. Join them to discuss US Poet Laureate Ada Limón’s book The Hurting Kind. Those who sign up will receive a copy of the book. The group will meet on three Thursdays from 12:30-1:30 pm in the CTLR Suite (LIB 225) on Sept. 29, Oct. 27, and Nov. 10. Attend one session or all three. You are welcome to bring your lunch. The CTLR will provide coffee/tea. To sign up or for questions email Leslie Sainz. Books will be available for pickup in the CTLR.

Middlebury undergraduates can attend the Bread Loaf School of English as rising seniors and earn six semester-hours of graduate-level English credit over six intensive and immersive weeks at our campuses in Ripton, Oxford, and MIIS. You can apply your credits to your undergraduate degree or get a jump start on your MA in English.

    This interactive workshop with teaching artists from Beyond the Page and Tara Affolter, Faculty Director of Equity, Justice, and Inclusion explores antiracist pedagogy in action.  This professional development event will consider how the framing and activities we engage in with BTP are rooted in inclusive antiracist practice and explore how such practices emerge in our teaching.

  • The Short Arm of the Law: The Post-Dictatorship Crime Film as a Barometer for Justice in Argentina

    Jennifer Alpert (Lecturer, Committee on Degrees in History & Literature at Harvard University)  is a film scholar interested in portrayals of marginalized groups in the popular cinemas of the Americas as it pertains to race, gender identity, sexuality, class, and political ideology among others, and with a focus on human rights in Latin America.
