    Gallery Talk and Reception—Hunter Barnes: A World Away

    Join us for a gallery talk by Hunter Barnes on the special exhibition, “A World Away” (on view at the Museum through August 11). This body of work—based on Barnes’ book of black and white photographs taken in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka among the Tamil people—offers a rare glimpse into a largely visually undocumented period in Sri Lankan history. Afterward, stay for hors d’oeuvres, drinks (cash bar) and conversation with your fellow art lovers. The talk begins at 5pm, followed by a reception at 5:30pm.

  • HB Shabbat Celebration

    Join other students to welcome to Jewish day of rest with a Kabbalat Shabbat service led by students. While much of the prayer will be in Hebrew, this space is exempt from the language pledge and there may be some English. The usual location for this service is in the Jewish Center in the Freeman International Center (FIC), but we may use an alternative location if the temperature in the Jewish Center is too hot.
