Cheswayo Mphanza ’16 recently released a book of poetry, The Rinehart Frames, which won the African Poetry Book Foundation’s 2020 Sillerman First Book Prize for African Poets and was lauded an “electrifying debut” by Publishers Weekly. The title references works by Ralph Ellison and Iranian photographer and director Abbas Kiarostami, while the poems engage with a range of other artists and historical figures.
