Qatar Heads to the Oscars

Beyond hosting the first World Cup in the Arab world, Qatar is also making history with And Then They Burn the Sea, the country’s first Oscar-qualified film in consideration for an Academy Award. Director Majid Al-Remaihi grapples with his mother’s gradual loss to dementia in this short documentary. He was part of the Class of 2018 but left the College his senior year to care for his mother.
