Permits and Registration
All vehicles must be registered with Middlebury College and display a valid permit.
Permit Information
Summer Term permits are available and will be emailed to your middlebury.edu email account upon completion of the order. The email will come from the vendor Rydin.
2025-2026 Academic Year student parking permits are now available for purchase as of August 2, 2025. If the vehicle is registered and the permit is ordered between August 2, 2025, and September 10, 2025, the cost of a full year permit will be $125.00 and the cost of a semester permit will be $75.00.
If you have unpaid parking violations, the parking management software places a hold on your account. A vehicle cannot be registered, and a permit cannot be purchased until all outstanding violations have been paid. Until the hold is removed the only place a vehicle can be parked without incurring parking enforcement is the Track lot. Please allow 48 hours after the payment of violations before accessing the parking portal to register your vehicle and purchase a parking permit.
Semester permits will be sent electronically to your middlebury.edu email account. The email will come from the vendor Rydin. Full-year permits will be sent to the mailing address provided at the time of purchase.
If you have difficulties logging into the parking portal or registering your vehicle, contact parking@middlebury.edu. Please provide a screen shot of the error message along with the type of device and browser that you are using to log in.
Students living off-campus must purchase a class year parking permit and provide your off-campus address information to Residential Life. If you qualify for a commuter parking permit, it will be sent to you via email.
Permit Guidelines
- If you have any outstanding parking violations from previous years, the parking management software will not allow you to register a vehicle/purchase a permit until payment of the violation has been received.
- Full-year parking permits will be sent to the mailing address provided at the time of purchase. Semester permits will be sent electronically to your middlebury.edu email account. The email will come from the vendor Rydin. Parking permits are not available at the Public Safety office.
- Temporary parking, without a parking permit, is allowed at the Track lot for a total of 4 days at the start of the semester.
- Any student whose registration status changes (student living in residential housing moves to off campus housing, student who moves from residence hall to small outer house, etc.) can obtain a new parking permit by contacting parking@middlebury.edu. Failure to obtain the new permit may result in a ticket and fine.
- If a person changes vehicles, the new vehicle must be registered.
- Parking permits are not transferable to any other person or any other vehicle. Permits cannot be resold. No person may register a vehicle in their name if the vehicle belongs to any other student, faculty or staff member.
- Students are not allowed to regularly use vehicles registered to Middlebury College employees without registering the vehicle with a student parking permit and paying the appropriate fee.
- Any person providing false information during the vehicle registration process will be referred to the Office of Community Standards for appropriate disciplinary action. Privileges to park on campus will also be revoked.
- Any vehicle with an altered parking permit is in violation of the College policy. The student to whom the vehicle is registered is subject to being fined, towed and/or booted, as well as College discipline.
- Registrations are not valid if a person is no longer a student or employee of the College.
Placement of Parking Permit
- The permit must be placed in the rear window directly behind the driver’s seat.
