Room Change Waitlist
Students may seek to change rooms for a variety of reasons. Below is some information about the room change process.
If students are seeking a room change at any point, they can email reslife@middlebury.edu to be placed on the waitlist to change rooms. Students cannot be on the waitlist unless they have a room assignment.
Housing Accommodations and Considerations
- Students seeking a specific housing accommodation for a medical or mental health related need should contact the Disability Resource Center for support.
- Students who would like to discuss a religious request for a housing need may email the Scott Center for Spiritual and Religious Life.
- Housing consideration questions related to Civil Rights and Title IX should be directed to the Civil Rights and Title IX Office.
- Students with accommodations through the Disability Resource Center or Civil Rights and Title IX offices always receive priority, including over those on the waitlist.
After Room Selection Processes
- The waitlist goes based on lottery priority order and room type. What that means is that students that are already in one room type (for example a single or a suite) will not be contacted about other open rooms of that same type. The waitlist is only for a DIFFERENT type of room (moving from a double to a single or from a standalone room to a suite).
- Students who did not select a space in room selection cannot be added to the waitlist, as they need a room assignment in order to be added to the waitlist.
During the Academic Year
- Students can be added to the waitlist at any time. However, after June 1, the waitlist will go in numeric order, meaning that anyone added to the waitlist after that date will be added to the end of the list and we will go in list order.
- Being added to the waitlist is not a guarantee of a room change.
