Munras features common living spaces and kitchens where Summer Institute participants can share meals and conversations as part of the global humanities curriculum.

The waterfront Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail passes nearby campus and stretches 18 miles, from Castroville in the north to Pacific Grove in the south.
Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf is a fun place to visit for restaurants, shopping, and watching the local marine life.
