Fall Semester: Late August - Mid-December

Spring Semester: Late January - Mid-May 

The Middlebury California Coast and Climate Semester (CCCS) is only offered in the spring and follows a different calendar, as there is a winter term component. The winter/spring 2026 CCCS program runs early January to mid-May.

The Middlebury Global Security Semester and International Studies Semester are offered both fall and spring.

For Middlebury College students: If you study at MIIS for the spring semester in the Global Security Semester or the International Studies Semester, you may not enroll in J-term on the Vermont campus. You will earn a Winter Term Equivalent credit (WTEQ) if you enroll in a full load of courses at MIIS.

  • Tuition: $29,091
  • Student Activity Fee: $85
  • Student Resources Fee: $150*

*Used to fund the health education and student support specialist and to cover the costs associated with the TimelyCare Service.

Munras Dorm Fees 

Fall/Spring

  • Single room $6,984
  • Double room $5,790 (per person)
  • Triple room $5,263 (per person)

Students participating in the California Coast and Climate Semester (CCCS) will be on campus in early January for the CCCS winter term.

There will be a daily rate charged for those extra days.

  • Single: about $94/night, 20 nights = $1,883
  • Double: about $79/night, 20 nights = $1,586
  • Triple: about $71/night, 20 nights = $1,421

Note: Study Away at Monterey students are generally placed in double or triple rooms. Please be in touch if you have questions about this.

Financial Aid

For Middlebury College students, financial aid travels to Monterey. Additional out-of-pocket expenses and travel to MIIS will be factored into your financial aid award. 

Students from other institutions should contact their financial aid office.
