Enrolled Middlebury Institute students have access to a remote care option called TimelyCare. It provides 24/7 access to urgent and non-urgent medical and mental health care.  Students may also schedule counseling and health coaching appointments based on clinician availability.

Students who are studying in the United States, either on campus or remotely, may access all features of TimelyCare, including medical visits, counseling, and TalkNow. Students studying outside of the United States and who have a U.S. phone or U.S.-based VPN, may utilize TalkNow, and Self-Care Content, but the other services are not available due to licensing restrictions.

What is TimelyCare?

TimelyCare is the use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to support long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, and public health. Technologies include videoconferencing, the internet, store-and-forward imaging, streaming media, and terrestrial and wireless communications.

Basically, this means Middlebury Institute students will be able to check in with a clinician from any location where they can access the internet.  This can help reduce barriers to care like needing assistance outside normal business hours, or waiting for an appointment.

How Does It Work?

Students can register for and access TimelyCare services by going to go.miis.edu/timelycare. Students can then have visits from any web-enabled device—smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. Questions about TimelyCare should be directed to the Office of Student services at student.services@middlebury.edu

If you are outside of the U.S. in a country with internet restrictions, you can access TalkNow* (immediate emotional support) by using a U.S. VPN or calling customer service at 833-484-6359. In order to be connected with a mental health provider, you will need a nine-digit telephone number.

*China and South Korea are not currently serviced by TalkNow.
