Our in-person and online Middlebury master’s programs are designed to give you meaningful, real-world experience while you earn your degree.
Programs Accepting New Students
In August 2025, Middlebury’s Board of Trustees decided to close all in-person programs and two online programs at the Middlebury Institute. We are in the process of a teachout for our current students, and we are committed to ensuring they complete their degrees by summer 2027. Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies
Advance your career in global security, addressing the challenges posed by domestic and international terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, and cyber and financial crime. STEM program. Online Programs
Our online master’s programs are asynchronous (no required live class meetings) with part-time options so you have the flexibility to continue working as you earn your degree.

Past Programs
Several new and updated programs in the lists above have replaced other programs. We are currently teaching out students in the following programs:
- MA in International Trade: replaced by the MA in Global Governance and Policy
- MPA in Social Change: replaced by the MA in International Policy and Development and the online MPA in Sustainability
- MA in TESOL: replaced by the online MA in TESOL
- MA in Teaching Foreign Language: replaced by the Middlebury Language Schools graduate programs
- Online MA in Translation and Localization Management: replaced by the online MA in Localization Project Management
