What is NExpress?
NExpress is a consortium of libraries in New England: Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Middlebury College, Northeastern University, Wellesley College, and Williams College.
NExpress offers expedited ILL services by operating a common catalog. The system automatically sends the patron’s request to a library within the consortia whose catalog currently lists an available copy of the requested item. All of the NExpress Libraries have agreed to ship materials via UPS and to allow multiple renewals, so items should arrive quickly and may be renewed twice.
Items currently available in MidCat will automatically be cancelled in NExpress.
As of June 2010, NExpress will provide loans only. All article requests must be submitted in ILLiad. NExpress cannot provide ebooks or access to other libraries' electronic databases.
If you are near one of the NExpress libraries, you may check out NExpress materials in person using your Middlebury ID.
