Serving as the institutional memory of Middlebury College, the College Archives is the repository of records, documents, publications, photographs, audiovisual recordings and other archival materials related to Middlebury College and its emerging global presence since 1800.
In general, most material in the College Archives is not restricted. The Archives is committed to preserving College records and making them available for research. At the same time, the College may have a legal or institutional obligations to restrict access to some collections or parts of collections.
In general, access to Middlebury College's personnel and student records is restricted for 50 years or until the death of the individual(s) named, whichever is shorter.
Faculty Meeting Meeting of the Faculty Council are restricted for 50 years from the date of creation. Officers of the College or administrators of departments may waive this time period at their discretion.
