Serving as the institutional memory of Middlebury College, the College Archives is the repository of records, documents, publications, photographs, audiovisual recordings and other archival materials related to Middlebury College and its emerging global presence since 1800.
In general, most material in the College Archives is not restricted. The Archives is committed to preserving College records and making them available for research. At the same time, the College may have a legal or institutional obligations to restrict access to some collections or parts of collections.
In general, access to Middlebury College's personnel and student records is restricted for 50 years or until the death of the individual(s) named, whichever is shorter.
Minutes of Faculty Meetings and Minutes of Faculty Council are not restricted. They can be accessed without restrictions in the College Archives and online by current Middlebury College community members (an online ID and password are required for online access):
