Why I wanted to become a Senior Fellow

The admissions process is a challenge for everyone. It can be both confusing and overwhelming and I want to help make it just a little easier.

What I did this summer

I am spending the summer of 2013 in Washington DC interning at Streetsense, a retail advisory, marketing, architecture, planning and real estate strategy firm. I am conducting research in many areas including repurposing vacant retail spaces and revitalizing run-down urban neighborhoods.

Favorite things

Favorite Class or Professor

My favorite professor at Middlebury is Tamar Mayer, the department chair of International Global Studies and my Geography advisor. She's engaging, challenging, and compassionate! She's interested in my life beyond my academic endeavors and helps me push myself.

Favorite Vermont-based activity

Playing games and swimming at Lake Dunmore

Favorite Middlebury tradition or event

Winter Carnival has to be my favourite Midd tradition of all time! We have the oldest Winter Carnival in the north east, and the carnival is a three day event meant to celebrate winter and our home ski races! It consists of outdoor games (Northern Lights), ice sculpture competitions, a ball/dance party, the ski races, and of course delicious food!!

Favorite spot on campus

Battell beach, despite its name, is not actually a beach (did somebody say snow surfing?) but instead, a large green on the North side of campus. Its home to our famous Quidditch games, a nice area to lay in the sun when the weather permits and sled when it doesn't!

Favorite dining hall concoction

Brownies or Magic bars....yummmm

How have you changed in the course of your time at Middlebury?

Everybody changes during their college career, myself included, and I think beyond the independence and the organizational skills I've gained, I've learnt to challenge myself further, try new things I thought I would never dream of doing (skiing!) and create new goals for myself that are actually attainable.

One thing every Middkid should do before they graduate

Take a trip up to the rooftop of Bicentennial Hall and take a look at the amazing town we live in!
