How did you choose to attend Middlebury?

Coming from the Big Sky State the first thing I remember about Middlebury is that it seemed similar to Montana. Unlike much of the East Coast, the countryside around Middlebury is open and unvegetated, just like home. Aside from amazing academics, the other main factor that drew me to Middlebury was the Snow Bowl. With the Bowl just 22 minutes from campus there are days where I’ll get out of class, drive up, ski from 3:30 to close (4pm), and head back to campus to hit the books.

What advice would you give to a prospective student?

Come into college with an open mind and know that everyone you meet brings something interesting and unique to the table.

Is there a J-Term experience that stands out as especially memorable?

My sophomore year I took a class on literary journalism and I wrote a story about snow making at the Snow Bowl. As a part of the assignment I got to make snow with the crews which was really cool to see some of the behind the scenes of a ski area.
