Kristin Ostrem '03graduated from Middlebury with a degree in International Studies (focus in French literature and culture) and minors in American Literature and Psychology.  She was an active member of the ZOO social house, was the senior photo editor of the Middlebury College Kaleidoscope, and volunteered for the Page 1 Literacy Program and at Mary Hogan Elementary School.

After graduating, Kristin moved to Boston to work for EF Education, an opportunity she heard about from her roommate's sister. She began working as a tour consultant for Go Ahead Vacations, one of EF Education's many different products, but has been working as the hiring and training manager for the last nine months. Since signing on with EF, she has had the opportunity to travel to Germany, Austria, Miami, Montreal, and Cancun and is set to visit Italy, Greece, and Croatia in July.

Kristin feels very lucky to be at EF where she is surrounded by other young, motivated people who all share the same passion for breaking down language and cultural barriers. EF is a good fit since she speaks a foreign language and traveled extensively with her family in Europe when she was younger.  Her parents enrolled her and her twin sister (who now has her master's in French from Middlebury and is living in Paris) in a French immersion program in their town when they were in first grade.  "First and second grade were taught exclusively in French, and over the years more and more English classes were added to our schedule."

Eventually Kristin hopes to return to school for a graduate degree in education.   She sees other Boston area alums on a regular basis and is "thrilled that I have been able to keep in touch with long distance Middlebury friends via e-mail and events."  Most recently, Kristin returned to campus as a CSO volunteer to recruit for EF Education.  She loved being back at Midd and was amazed by "all the wonderful changes and additions that have been made to the campus over the past two years."
