Conceição Evaristo

Conceição Evaristo is originally from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, and now resides in Rio de Janeiro state. She received her PhD in Comparative Literature from the Universidade Federal Fluminense. She has taught at the Faculdade de Educação/UFF, PENESB and other local universities in Rio de Janeiro. She will teach one course on discursos literários e inscrições de afro-brasilidade and a course on poéticas brasileiras.

Rui Zink

Rui Zink received his Ph.D. in Portuguese Literature from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where he is a professor at the graduate program. From the same university he holds an M.A. in Portuguese Culture and Literature, and a B.A. in Portuguese Studies. He will be teaching a course on Humor in Portuguese literature interfaced with creative writing. From 1987-2008, he has published several books–novels, stories, books for children—and many academic articles. His books have been translated into English, French, German, Hebrew, Japanese, Romanian, Serbo-Croatian, and Spanish.
