After graduating from Barnard College in 2006, I moved to Russia and worked at the Moscow Art Theater School in the International Department and coordinated their study abroad programs. Besides studying Russian, I have also been involved in various puppet productions both in Siberia and New York and still enjoy making short theatre pieces when possible.
In 2009 I enrolled in the doctoral program in Slavic Languages and Literature at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have a passion for all things Russian and enjoy bringing my interests to the community. I currently teach a course on Eastern European Literature and Drama at a medium-security prison in Oregon, Wisconsin and hope to start a Russian Lit./Creative writing group for disadvantaged members of the Madison community in 2012. My research interests include Russian and Eastern European theatre, Polish language and culture, and the dramatic works of Alexander Ostrovsky. I look forward to working with Level-1 again this summer!
