One-Week Russian Refresher Course

Return to the Davis School of Russian and refresh your language skills during our 1-Week Refresher Course. Students will participate in 3 hours of Russian language instruction daily while keeping the Language Pledge. Students live on campus, eat in the dining halls with fellow School of Russian students and faculty, and participate in all School activities. Enrollment is limited to 12 students.

This program is intended for alumni of the Davis School of Russian or other students with language proficiency of at least Intermediate Mid or the equivalent. Proficiency testing may be required.

The curriculum will include:

  • Daily lessons on Russian grammar, vocabulary development, and phonetics
  • Discussions of current events and literature
  • Full participation in the Russian School’s cultural program
  • Special events include a theater and music workshop, a game night, and meeting with a guest of the Russian School

Program Dates: July 28 - August 4

Program Cost: $1,740

Application Deadline: May 15, 2019

Please apply using the Language School online application. On the first screen, choose the application type "Summer Language Immersion: Beginner Thru Advanced." The 1-week session will appear as a program option on the next screen.

Alumni of the Russian School or Middlebury College do not need to pay the application fee or submit supplementary materials. Applicants new to Middlebury should pay the Language Schools application fee and scan and email their university transcripts to schoolofrussian@middlebury.edu.
