Jessica Crossman(Dining Services-Catering Coordinator)

April 8, 2024

I have been so touched by the kind professionalism that Jess Crossman puts into her work. She is doing a tremendous job! I was particularly impressed with the work she did for the Middlebury Mellon Migrant Justice Workshop in Kirk and for the History Department’s recent retirement dinner at the Humanities House. I felt so bad when I arrived at the Humanities House last Thursday during the snowstorm and saw catering cart tracks through 5-6” of snow that hadn’t yet been shoveled. That must have been so hard to get that full cart up the ramp! Thank you, Jess, for your kind and helpful fixes for my last minute, panicked requests, too!! So happy to work with Jessica Crossman!

From: Judy Mayer

Angela Rheaume(Student Affairs)

March 15, 2024

As a new employee one of my tasks was to complete an HR “scavenger hunt” form to help me learn my way around the many places and people here at MIDD. Angela was the first person I encountered at Old Chapel where I was instructed to introduce myself and find out the name and position of the first person I met there. She could not have been more welcoming, friendly, and helpful as we chatted for 5 minutes or so. Thank you Angela!

Tim Mosehauer and Jeff Sawyer(Center for Careers and Internships)

March 14, 2024

This Sunday, Tim will drive a vanload of 10 students to participate in an immersive Boston-based “living and learning” experience.  The program, organized by Jeff and Tim, engages students in site visits to organizations like Accenture Innovation Hub, Moderna, the Broad Institute, Google, DoorDash, Toast, and more. The experience will also include reflection dinners and career conversations with other select alumni. I am so grateful to Tim and Jeff for designing this transformative program for students.

Emina Mahmuljin (Printing & Mailing Services)

February 2, 2024

On the afternoon of our most recent Performing Arts Series concert, we panicked when we realized that the programs hadn’t arrived.  Emina helpfully checked her notes to confirm that they had been printed and sent over. After a search with our friends in Facilities, the missing programs were found— but Emina kindly checked in anyway, because she offered to stay late and reprint them if needed! She is always helpful and kind, and we appreciate her help very much.

Phil Cyr (Facilities Service)

February 2, 2024

Phil goes out of his way to be helpful! One recent afternoon, we discovered that the programs for that evening’s concert hadn’t been delivered yet. The print shop confirmed that they were put on the truck a few days before, but someone was out sick. Phil volunteered to go out and check the truck, and found them—and then drove right over to deliver them.  Not his job, but he pitched in anyway.  He’s just one of those people who keeps Middlebury running

Leeeza Robbins (Box Office)

March 17, 2023

Recently, the box office’s third-party software fell victim to a data breach, which hobbled and then completely shut down our online box office. It caused so many problems— we couldn’t sell tickets, access to previous sales was cut off, and many of our customers had their information compromised to boot. As Murphy’s Law would have it, this all happened during the 2 weeks when Middlebury also hosted 2 NCAA playoff tournaments on very short notice.  Leeeza worked carefully through this stressful situation, going above and beyond expectations, working long hours, managing big new events, and exploring both short- and long-term solutions. I’m thankful to have Leeeza and her deep expertise in all things box office on our team. Her box office savvy and dedication are worth celebrating!

Jodi Litchfield (Disability Resource Center)

March 15, 2023

I just want to suggest recognizing Jodi Litchfield because she’s been at Middlebury for close to 30 years (possibly more?) and has specifically been working to ensure equity for students with disabilities since 1999, I believe. That’s a long run. And she still seems to be very much “in the game”—that is, she’s still committed to ensuring an equitable learning environment for students with disabilities and works tirelessly to that end. I’m just impressed with that combo: length of service + unwavering commitment to the cause. (Some folks after 30 years would be “phoning it in/coasting to retirement,” but not Jodi.
