Your residential experience is supported by the following staff and resources on both the Bread Loaf and Middlebury campuses. See also California Medical Resources and Academic Resources.

Bread Loaf and MIIS Staff

For a complete listing of our summer staff, please see the BreadWeb California Campus Directory.

Campus Housing

Students will be housed in single rooms in the Munras dorm (787 Munras Avenue), which is within easy walking distance to campus. The dorm has a number of study rooms, social spaces, and an outdoor patio with picnic tables. Washers and dryers are available on each dormitory floor (free of charge). You will need to supply your own laundry detergent.

Campus Dining

MIIS does not provide a dining service or a board plan for BLSE students. All students, however, have access to a community kitchen in Munras dorm: the kitchen has some pots and pans, dishware, and cooking utensils, but you may need to provide some silverware, dishes, and dishwashing supplies. There are also numerous cafes, restaurants, and grocery stores nearby.

Technology Services

Wireless connections are available throughout student housing, campus, and public spaces. Printers are available in the Munras dorm (available 24/7), the William Tell Coleman Library, and the Samson Student Center Media Room. Please see the Bread Loaf Technology Guide for the how-to’s of connecting at Bread Loaf.

BreadWeb

BreadWeb provides a digital contact point for our community. It gives you easy access to the campus events calendar. It also lists contact information for the full Bread Loaf staff. Contact Tom McKenna if you need to set up your BreadWeb account.

Vehicle Registration and Parking

There is ample parking at Munras dorm for residents. If you wish to park elsewhere on the MIIS campus and/or are not living at Munras, you will need to request a parking permit from the Security office (460 Pierce Street); you will need to provide your MIIS ID card, car registration, and insurance.

Recreation and Other Resources

The MIIS campus is just blocks away from Monterey Bay, Fisherman’s Wharf, and the heart of downtown Monterey. For other local resources (including restaurants, movies, stores, services, and activities), see Eating, Entertainment, and Excursions compiled by the BLSE staff. See other Monterey local resourcesThings To Do, and information for students with families
